MLK & Civil disobedience
- MILK was a good organizer for disobedience acts. He planned the boycott of the buses. He could get people to follow him plus all his acts were non violent ones. his way of fighting was to do absolutely nothing but a single task. Not just one person either but a whole community as well. Everyone had a role to play in these movements acts and they had to stick to it.

Power of the "MOB"
-The mob at Central High school was purely made of all whites. They seem to be there to threaten the Little Rock 9 to go elsewhere. They didnt want their kids in the same class let alone in the same school. If any colored person was around the mob would attack them. A black would just be minding his own business and the mob would still go after them. If the person was white and they were protesting with the blacks then they would get attacked too.

Plessy V. Fergusan vs. Brown V. Board of education

Civil Rights Goal
-To give everyone equal rights. All colored people wanted to treated as equal as the whites did. Stop segregation and not be split up like they are now.

Eisenhower's Role in Little Rock
-Governor sent the national guard to stop the Little Rock 9 from entering the school. President heard of this and sent the army to protect them and let them enter the School safely.

Rights of the accused
-6th amendment requires that a defendant should have an attorney even if they cant afford them. Criminals have rights until they are thrown into jail. Dont need to answer anything until you have talked to your attorney. Criminals should know their rights before anything.

Brown V. Board of education
-This ignited the Civil Rights Movement. Oliver Brown sued Topeka on behalf of his daughter because she had to travel a distance to get to school on the other side of town when there is a school close by

Chavez and the UFW
-Chavez is the voice of the 5 million latinos in the US. He was very well known. He started the Delano Grape Strike which boycotted the picking of grapes and caused a shortage of grapes and wine in California. Chavez was against illegal immigration because it could ruin the chances for the strikes and remove the older harder workers.

FHA and ADA
-FHA states that it will not sell/rent land to buyers based on their color, race , or religion. ADA is to place or make facilities for those who are disable.

I know its easy to just copy someone but what do you gain. I believe that hard work gets you the medal. Getting to live the American Dream is a job as well. Higher class family get all what they want while the average has to work for it. Nothing in this world comes easy even if you are rich or come from a good family that provides. The American Dream is in everyone's reach no matter how far it may be. In A Class Divided it seemed that the kids claimed as superior did better and the inferior ones didnt. I think even if they claim you inferior you can still aim for the best you can. Dont left one thing set you back just because someone say this. Those inferiors can still make it to the top even if it takes time and a little hard work. Pain is weakness leaving the body.

Let the music fill your mind!

Does rap influence teens ? Yes somewhat in positive and negative. I think depending on the song itself. Like some rappers rap about the getting the "gwap"(money) and girl plus what they would do with them. There's also the rappers that keep it in a perfect point of view like some of positives of being rich besides the fact that you get money or the girl.

Can the music make you think in a certain way? Somewhat. You can hear what the rapper is trying to get at but the facts that can push you into a gang is different. Like before you can see the out looks of life instead of aiming to get yourself inot trouble with the law.

Can the style of music make a difference or can it change you? Definitely ! You can be leaning to one end of the music and thats the way people view you. Techno somewhat has no lyrics but the beat and the vibe makes you feel good. It can make a total situation flip around for the better. The style can make a huge difference on your decision and your emotions play a role on this.

Concept 10

McCarthyism impact on Society
-Somewhat form of th Salem Witch trials that targeted people who spoke or showed any un-american behaviors. Big officials were taken down and charged as communist. From movie actors to the secretary of defense were targets. If one person was targeted and that person said someone's name then they also assume that they were communist as well. The Hollywood Blacklist was big because the director or the movie itself was communist propaganda to them.

Communist "Witch Hunt" and the impact on those accused
-Targeted for being un-american behaviors. The accused , their reputations were ruined because just being accused people thought that you really were a communist even when you are released.

Space Race impact on government policies
-In 1957, after the launch of the Spuntnik I into space the U.S directed large amounts of money into education to outclass the Soviets

Cold War of U.S Gov't and Public Mindset
-Cold War was a not necessarily a war but more a competition and it moved to space. Americans thought they were the far in technology. They felt vunerable because the Soviets launched a rocket that circled the moon.America devoted to themselves that they would come out on the top in both the Cold War and the race to the out world known as space.

Suburbs , Automobile and roads
-People wanted to have the perfect home with white fences, two cars and the ideal loving family. That is the American Dream. The suburbs were being built by Levitt, who built about 150 houses per week. All the homes had a similar but slight different design. People left the cities and moved there to their dream houses but they had to commute to the city everyday so new roads were built. Highways were built and to collect money back they place tolls. Also, people wanted to travel around in their cars. They headed to popular places like Disney world.

Baby Boom
-After the War, the men returned and population began to climb in America. From 1946-1960 with the peak being between 1951-1955, babies were being born like crazy. A baby was born every 7 secs in America. Insane, right ? About 4.5 million babies a year were born.

Urban - Suburban pattern
-There was a pattern amongst the areas depending the families income. The business ditrict or the city areas was the lowest in the pattern. Around the outside of the city was the suburbs or middle class limited area. The farthest was the higher class.

GI Bill


Expansion of middle class
-Companies wanted to rake in the cash so they dropped the prices of products. Also, they made the ads seem like you need that product badly. People bought things like crazy,even though they dont need it. As if the products were gold and they jumped for it.

Story In The Paint

Walking through town on a Sunday afternoon. Everyone in town is ready for the local ball game. I unfortunately was not going. In the distance I hear "IT'S GAME TIME!" The town is in a uproar running to the park in excitement. The game was about to the start. I see people on the outside off the fence. I thought to myself "it's just a game like any other." I hear the uproar of the crowd again. "HOME RUN!!", yells the crowd. I try to see but the crowd is blocking the view of the game. There was no way i could see but i found a small hole in the fence. That hole in the fence opened my eyes to the great sport of Baseball. The swing of the bat and snap that you hear when the ball connects with the bat. It was intense. I discovered a whole need game from a hole in a fence.

1. Women started filling in jobs that men did. Also, they manufactured necessary supplies for the men over in war.

2. Cause: Japanese forces attacked Pearl Harbor killing many U.S soldiers station there.
Effect: U.S attacked high populated cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki killing thousands plus the after affects of the atomic bomb like waste

3.Before: To stay neutral until the war was over.
During: Protect the northern , southern , and central nations if they were attacked , mandatory registration for men to join the US forces.

4.Destruction of European cities, massive genocide of Jews, homosexuals and others sent to concentration camps. Executions of the elderly, ill, women and children. The stripping of citizenship for Jews.

5.Pearl Harbor killed thousands, loss of battleships , and it also caused the US to get involved in war. The actions that the Japanese did in Pearl Harbor had an effect on the US that we bombed 2 cities in Japan

Intervention ?

Groups that are being targeted because of what they believe in is wrong!! Depending on the how serious the situation is in that one country then we should not get involved. I mean the US has thinks that they need to take care of. I would say to other countries to fend for themselves but its in human to help out those in need. Out of pure goodness of the US we can help in small ways like suppressing the ones trying to get rid of an entire race or supply the civilians with safety measures or shelter from those willing to hurt them. US should find some means in helping those in need, even a little.

Playing CSI With Sacco & Vanzetti

Italian anarchists Sacco and Vanzetti were convicted of murder during an armed robbery in 1920 in Braintree Massachusetts. They were put to trial and had a couple of them. The second trial resulted in them both found guilty and executed on Aug. 23, 1927. Times during their trials, people weren't all 100% about the decision the judge had made. Some historians and people are still curious about it. Were they both actually guilty ? What about the evidence that was presented against them ? Let's imagine we were CSI Investigators back in 1920 and examine the evidence to determine the real verdict.
Some key pieces of evidence include eye witnesses, Sacco & Vanzetti's guns, Sacco's hat, and even the Buick that was used in the crimes.
First piece of evidence presented against Sacco was ballistics evidence. They said a bullet that was found came from his Colt automatic pistol. It was "consistent with being fired through Sacco's pistol" and that a scratch was made by a defect in the rifling of the pistol. The defense's response suggests that it wasn't from his gun. (1961 ballistics tests say it was from Sacco's gun.
A Buick was claimed to be used by the two in the murder. Prosecution says they both ran off, leaving the car behind when they found out the police were on their way but Sacco & Vanzetti testified they left because the car didn't have 1920 license plates.
Sacco was absent from work on the day the crime was committed. He says he's been in Boston getting a passport and dining at Boni's Restaurant. Seven eye witnesses testify they saw him at the restaurant.
The amount of presented evidence against Vanzetti was less and not as effective as Sacco's. Four eyewitnesses say they saw him in a car in South Braintree after shots were heard. But, however, they could not make a positive identification of him. Also, no one claimed they saw him at the actual shooting. Vanzetti defends saying he was selling fish at Plymouth and six witnesses confirm he was there.
Vanzetti's .38 revolver. At the time of his arrest, he had the pistol on him, which had similar characteristics to paymaster guard Berardelli's, who was shot at the time. Vanzetti says he bought the gun from a friend for protection a few months before the arrest using money he received from fish peddling business. Falzini, the friend, testified and confirms he sold him the gun.
After long hours and examination of evidence, the verdict was set to guilty and the judge ordered for them to be executed. The prosecution, however, had some doubts. They sensed that maybe, Vanzetti was innocent after all and as noted, Vanzetti, unlike Sacco, kept passionately crying out his innocence while Sacco just sat there. Most of the prosecution, and even Sacco, were shocked at Vanzetti's find at guilty. So in my opinion, in the charge of the murder, Sacco was guilty but Vanzetti was not.

Organized Crime

From what I learned from the prezi was that they were'nt just a group of hoodlums but a group intellegent men. The group's crimes were'nt simple either. They would have an elaborate plan for the perfect crime.Also, it wasnt just them going all the work. Outside help would be called in like cops to divert something or random civilians get involved. The people in the group can twist and bend others to doing something to assist them in the crime. Outside help gets a cut of whatever the group is getting. Crime organization also has like a cover they are amoung the casual people when not in the crime business.Organized crimes are the best kind of crime there is. Planned out to the very end and making a clean get away.
