Intervention ?

Groups that are being targeted because of what they believe in is wrong!! Depending on the how serious the situation is in that one country then we should not get involved. I mean the US has thinks that they need to take care of. I would say to other countries to fend for themselves but its in human to help out those in need. Out of pure goodness of the US we can help in small ways like suppressing the ones trying to get rid of an entire race or supply the civilians with safety measures or shelter from those willing to hurt them. US should find some means in helping those in need, even a little.

Playing CSI With Sacco & Vanzetti

Italian anarchists Sacco and Vanzetti were convicted of murder during an armed robbery in 1920 in Braintree Massachusetts. They were put to trial and had a couple of them. The second trial resulted in them both found guilty and executed on Aug. 23, 1927. Times during their trials, people weren't all 100% about the decision the judge had made. Some historians and people are still curious about it. Were they both actually guilty ? What about the evidence that was presented against them ? Let's imagine we were CSI Investigators back in 1920 and examine the evidence to determine the real verdict.
Some key pieces of evidence include eye witnesses, Sacco & Vanzetti's guns, Sacco's hat, and even the Buick that was used in the crimes.
First piece of evidence presented against Sacco was ballistics evidence. They said a bullet that was found came from his Colt automatic pistol. It was "consistent with being fired through Sacco's pistol" and that a scratch was made by a defect in the rifling of the pistol. The defense's response suggests that it wasn't from his gun. (1961 ballistics tests say it was from Sacco's gun.
A Buick was claimed to be used by the two in the murder. Prosecution says they both ran off, leaving the car behind when they found out the police were on their way but Sacco & Vanzetti testified they left because the car didn't have 1920 license plates.
Sacco was absent from work on the day the crime was committed. He says he's been in Boston getting a passport and dining at Boni's Restaurant. Seven eye witnesses testify they saw him at the restaurant.
The amount of presented evidence against Vanzetti was less and not as effective as Sacco's. Four eyewitnesses say they saw him in a car in South Braintree after shots were heard. But, however, they could not make a positive identification of him. Also, no one claimed they saw him at the actual shooting. Vanzetti defends saying he was selling fish at Plymouth and six witnesses confirm he was there.
Vanzetti's .38 revolver. At the time of his arrest, he had the pistol on him, which had similar characteristics to paymaster guard Berardelli's, who was shot at the time. Vanzetti says he bought the gun from a friend for protection a few months before the arrest using money he received from fish peddling business. Falzini, the friend, testified and confirms he sold him the gun.
After long hours and examination of evidence, the verdict was set to guilty and the judge ordered for them to be executed. The prosecution, however, had some doubts. They sensed that maybe, Vanzetti was innocent after all and as noted, Vanzetti, unlike Sacco, kept passionately crying out his innocence while Sacco just sat there. Most of the prosecution, and even Sacco, were shocked at Vanzetti's find at guilty. So in my opinion, in the charge of the murder, Sacco was guilty but Vanzetti was not.

• Immigration Act of 1924 was established;  2% limit of each ethnic group from 1890 census would be allowed to migrate to U.S. per year. Asians were banned.

Nativism: 

• Native-born Americans who think they are better than foriegners and blamed everythng on them.

Organized Crime

From what I learned from the prezi was that they were'nt just a group of hoodlums but a group intellegent men. The group's crimes were'nt simple either. They would have an elaborate plan for the perfect crime.Also, it wasnt just them going all the work. Outside help would be called in like cops to divert something or random civilians get involved. The people in the group can twist and bend others to doing something to assist them in the crime. Outside help gets a cut of whatever the group is getting. Crime organization also has like a cover they are amoung the casual people when not in the crime business.Organized crimes are the best kind of crime there is. Planned out to the very end and making a clean get away.
